Rockin Robin Brewery was founded in 2011 when it produced just 3 firkins or barrels a week. These early years enabled MD Robin to assess the marketplace and to supply a few of the local beer festivals and real ale pubs with his range of ‘Rockin’ ales. He also met his soon-to-be business partner, Stuart Osgood who was impressed with Robin’s ambitions as well as his beer. Positive yet perceptive feedback was received from festivals and friends, so the ales were fine-tuned to suit the discerning palate! In May 2014 Robin launched his 15-barrel microbrewery in Camp Field Farm.
Meet the Team
Robin Smallbone - Managing Director
Robin is 47 and has been improving his brewing skills over the past 25 years. His eccentric and colourful personality is almost legendary on the local circuit where he is as famous for his culinary skills as he is for his beer. Robin is found jamming around Maidstone most weekends, wrestling with his harmonica and playing the odd guitar tune. If he’s tasted one too many beers he may even break into song – thus the moniker ‘Rockin Robin’. When he finds a spare few hours – not so easy these days - he takes his boat to the high waters for a spot of sea fishing.
Michelle Gordon - Sales Manager
Michelle, Robin’s partner, is the PR face of the Rockin Robin Brewery as well as heading up sales and marketing. She’s the one most likely to pick up the phone when you put in a call – so be nice!
Stuart Osgood - Production Director
Stuart is 49 and is better known as Oz. He has been brewing for the past 5 years and can be described as having a shy but caring personality. He enjoys going to local and national beer festivals and enjoys heavy rock music. He is an avid supporter of his local football club, the Tonbridge Angels.
